Junior Guidance
Welcome Junior Parents! Can you believe that your children are just a year away from SENIOR YEAR and all the college planning? The focus of the Guidance Department this year is to start prepping them for the college admissions process beginning in late fall with meetings in the classroom, and continuing on with individual meetings with each student. Below is a brief outline of discussion topics.
Fall/Winter
- Preparing for the PSAT (Scores are returned and explained in December)
- College Admissions Representative visits (College representatives start to visit PMA during the lunch period in October. Juniors are highly encouraged to attend these visits.

Spring
- College Research
Comparing colleges, Campus Visit preparation, College Interview preparation, College Essay ideas, SAT: Make sure students register for the April, May, or June administrations of the SAT - College Admissions Process
Teacher and Guidance Recommendations, Creating the High School Resume, Finalizing you College List, College visits (visits are encouraged during the summer prior to senior year.)

After School Help
All teachers offer after school help on a regular basis. Students are encouraged to see their teachers after school whenever they have an academic issue.
